Day 3

Breakfast- leftover chicken from day 1
Lunch - bean and salad wrap
Dinner - bowl of cereal
Snack- apple

Still feeling okay nothing has been a struggle so far, but staying positive is helping. The purpose of the blog seems to be working as well. Friends and family asking me how I'm doing and suggesting websites for me to read. So thanks for the help guys!

Bought tickets for the film festival today! I'm really going to have to plan my meals, we are constantly eating on the go during those movie filled weeks. I'll probably have to throw a few gym sessions in too as we'll be sitting lots. It'll be worth it, film festival is always a lot of fun!

Drank a little bit more water today but still no where enough.

Day 2

Well they have discovered water on Mars but I'm still finding it difficult to drink but I'll keep trying.

Breakfast - ham omelette
Lunch- turkey salad wrap full of mushrooms, spinach, tomato and avocado
Dinner - pork tenderloin with jalapenos and peach sauce and rice

People keep asking me, "Jenn, where are you getting this amazing recipes?!?" (they don't really but this is how we roll here in blog land) Well people, the jalapenos and peach sauce is bastardized concoction of my dad's recipe, it was one of my favourite dishes he did. Everything else I am just making up as we go along, making sure I get my protein to stay fuller longer and trying to get some fruit and veg in along the way.

The walking app had a glitch in the GPS so its didn't log properly...  was hoping to see if I beat yesterdays time. Oh well will try again tomorrow!

Day 3 - Drink more water!

Today's food

Monday 28 September 2015

Day 1 and we're off!!!

Breakfast- scrambled egg, ham in half a wheat pita with hot sauce
Lunch - turkey salad
Snack- apple
Dinner - chicken breast stuffed with cream cheese wrapped in parma ham with pesto green beans

First off I have weighed myself and no I'm not telling you, maybe later. I am only touching the scales every 10 days as I don't want to get too caught up in the numbers. I am doing this for more than the numbers, I'm trying to change my life.

I have walked to and from work today. The MapMyWalk app seems to do what I wanted it to do. It is tracking my distance and time and as a bonus it splits my pace per kilometre. Interesting to see my evening walk (up hill) takes me a bit of time but gives me something to beat next time!

I know it's only day one but no coke today, yippeeeee! Overall I  haven't been hungry but a little thirsty (find it difficult to drink just water) good start I think!

Bring on day 2!

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is day 1 of 100.

I am really hoping all goes well for me and I will actually achieve something at the end of this if not my weight goal then at least a lifestyle change.

Apps/blogs/inspiration I have starting using/following to help me on my way

MapMyWalk - I haven't actually used this app as of yet so I'm not sure if it the one I want but it should log my morning and evening walks along with the mileage and calories burnt. Will try it tomorrow on my way to work.

whole30recipes - following on instagram - I am not following the whole 30 diet but the bloggers and food posted have provided a lot of ideas for meals going forward.

noGuilt Nutrition - following on instagram - some nice recipes and motivation for road ahead

and the obvious 100-healthy-days.com the original blog that has given me the inspiration to try this myself.

If you know of any other blogs or site that could help please leave them in the comments on facebook!

Look forward to sharing my first day tomorrow!

Getting Started....

.... on a blog and on a (fingers crossed) life adjusting mission.

I have taken inspiration from Sophie and thought I would give this all a go. I'm hoping putting it out there and sharing it among my friends will help me stick to my goals, we'll see!

Few things first - lets start with a list

1. This is my first blog and I don't know if I am doing it right!
2. My spelling and grammar is atrocious so bear with me
3. I'm doing this in real life - so expect normal photos of food, nothing fancy!
4. Ecouragment needed- thanks!
5. I'm sure this list will continue as we go!!!

My aim is to be as active and healthy as I can for 100 days. I plan on balancing treats or meals out with the 80/20 rule I mean I am only human, chocolate or a burger will be needed along the journey.
So this week so far I am slowly adjusting my habits with the main one being DIET COKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a sucker for a glass/can/bottle of the stuff and I will try to get rid of it altogether by the end of the 100 days. I am walking to and from work a few days a week to get my body moving.

So this is pre start of the 100 days... I need to stock the fridge!

Keep checking back!! please...
