Day 36

Breakfast - Blueberry yoghurt with fresh blueberries
Lunch - half a cheese salad sandwich and a cup of tomato soup
Dinner - Roast Chicken hash

Starting to feel more like myself and my cold is fading away.

Forgot to get something out of the freezer for dinner and crazy enough there were some quick dinners with rotisserie chicken... amazing what you can find with following all these foody websites! It was just the chicken broken up into pieces with roast potatoes (I cheated and used ready roasted potatoes that just go in the oven for 20 mins) onions and peppers with a bit of parmesan cheese. It was a little dry so used some hot sauce.

Day 35

Getting a lot rest this weekend. Slept until 10.30. We had some girls from Dave's work over to watch some films today so there was a mad rush to tidy up and needed to get some things from the shop to munch on and promised a cake as well. Today is not looking like a healthy day.

I recently read an article that was shared on FB and it ring very true to me.... If you start your day on a healthy note, you'll be more likely to keep the trend going... for me its if I have one bad thing all day ends up being bad, and here's the list.

3/8's of a frozen pizza (hey don't laugh, I'm trying to know when to stop every piece counts)
some pringles
Slice of carrot cake
kitkat
Chicken Sandwich

Tomorrow is a new day!

PS- Why is pizza always my down fall!?!?!

Day 34

Brunch - Scrambled Eggs and 2 hash browns
Dinner - Thin Fry steak with roasted butternut squash and spinach

So since I slept until 11.30am it is pretty much lunchtime and since I'm not feeling well nothing too heavy and not much.

By dinner time I'm feeling better and hungry and it was really tasty. I have never roasted squash myself and it was really nice... and I like it more than sweet potatoes. So another veg to regularly add to the mix.

Day 33

Breakfast- Blueberry yoghurt and muesli
Lunch- cup of soup and a tortilla with a slice of cheese
Dinner- Wagamama's with the girls - chicken and prawn pad thai and beef donburi, and some starters

I guess I have to explain my dinner as I bet you are all thinking I ate all that! Well I didn't it, was shared between me, Shayna and Shabana. We tried to go healthy and even if it wasn't (which I'm not sure nutritionally if wagamama's is health or not) it seemed it. It was light and filling and didn't make me feel too naughty.

After dinner we went to see my friends band Rawschac (make sure you click the link and give them a listen and a like!) Was having a really good night and then all of the sudden a really bad headache came over me and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. It was quickly turning into a migraine and I had to try my hardest not to puke on the bus. I went straight to sleep - I didn't take any drugs hoping it was just go away with rest. I woke up at 5:30am (woohoo even more progress) and my head was still banging so I finally took some drugs and back to bed and woke up at 11.30am.

Right on to Day 34 as I'm at pretty much lunch time already!!

Day 32

Breakfast- Yoghurt and blueberries
Lunch- Leftover fish but to make it more exciting had some rice with it
Dinner- Leftover chicken noodle soup

Another long day but woke up at 4.30am instead of 3.30am so it's progress! Looking forward to the weekend for some rest maybe this cold will finally go!

I know its only been a couple of days since I got the fresh food in the house but I'm feeling pretty positive about the 10 days to day 40. It really does help when you have the right food in the fridge!

Day 31

Breakfast - cherry yoghurt and blue berries
Lunch - Chicken wrap
Dinner - A piece of basa with asparagus and greens with lemon and pepper.

It has been a long day today, I have been up since 3.30am at work from 6.30am to 5.30pm. Last night before bed I had a lemsip and fell asleep fine, but because I had a drink before bed I had to wake up to go to the bathroom. That was at 2:30 then trying to fall back asleep all I could do was cough and then I was conscience that I was keeping Dave up because he is only starting to feel better. So I got up and that was at 3.30 and I'm not feeling any better at 19.23.

I thought my dinner idea sounded nice and it looked nice but it was pretty boring. Good thing Dave is out he would have been really disappointed!

I like fish but the only thing I have ever cooked that has had any flavour is a tuna steak. I'll guess I'll just have it when I go on holiday! Or fish and chips!

I'm off for a sleep now.

Day 30 - 1 month in and missed my goal

Breakfast- Cherry yoghurt with blue berries
Lunch- Chicken wrap
Dinner - Homemade chicken noodle soup (not noodles though whole-wheat fusilli pasta)

Started the day by filling up the crockpot- carrots, celery, onions, chicken, stock and herbs. Letting it cook all day while we are at work. Then went on my morning scroll through FB and found this quote

I mean it wasn't over a piece of pizza, I did that, but it did make me think. I am really trying and I am being honest. I'm not hiding the naughty food, what is the purpose, this is my journey and if I don't tell it m&m's, pizza and all, I'm only lying to myself. I hope that I'll be able to look back on this and see that I did have good and bad days and there is nothing wrong with that, I only have to re-adjust to move forward.

So Day 30 - I have only lost 1 pound in 10 days. What a bummer! but everyone is saying yeah but its still a loss. I know, but I could have lost more I was hoping for 15 pounds in my first month, but as I said moment ago, I just need to re-adjust and move forward. AND get well then I can walk again!

Home from work and the house smells nicely of my soup. It had reduced down a bit so I made more stock and boiled the pasta. It's not the most photogenic dish but it did taste nice and there is nothing in it but what was listed above.

and while we are at it here's my lunch too
